Any takers?
by Jessica Rabbit ini have been doing some research on freemasonry and the pyramids lately.
does anyone know if the purple triangles on the shirts of the jw holocaust victims had anything to do with the pyramids; and who decided to put that particular patch on that group of people?
i know that the "star of david" is another symbol used in freemasonry as well as the "watchtower" symbol.

Oh Spice, you are gonna love this one..... I just recently finished a book - "The Armageddon Cult" written by Daniel LeEarl Hall. It said that the word "speculate" comes from the latin word "specula". In latin, Specula means Watchtower. Speculating is only guessing or assuming. Could the WTBS have picked a better word for thier #1 seller? The book also talks about Freemasonry and how the Watchtower symbol is used by them. Must be why Russell named the magazine Zion's WT. I found this book through Cristy Harvey at her WitforJesus website.

Has anyone felt like this?
by Garnet inwhen you left the borg, did any of you feel that god was dissapointed in you?
i know in my heart that i am not turning my back on god, but my mind says something else (and so do the people in the religion).
it's weird, when i was a catholic, i never felt guilty for missing mass, i knew that god loved me.

Yes I have felt that way. Now I realize why. I was relating God to people who claimed to be his chosen people. I saw HIM with THIER personalities. After putting all opinions on the backburner and reading ONLY the Bible I no longer feel like I have disapointed him. I feel like I know what He expects from me and it is definitely not in some GROUP I associate with.

Just wondered if anyone else ever questioned this.

A Question for serious Bible Students...
by Jessica Rabbit inwhy were some ancient writings not included in the bible as we know it?
for instance the book of enoch goes into detail of his experience of being taken to heaven and later coming back to earth to share his experience with his sons, and then later died a natural death.
i have read this book and it is full of details that no one back then could have described without our modern science and technology we have today.

Hello AGuest!
I love your input on this. You are definitely looking outside the box. My religious upbringing was hindering me from feeling comfortable about purchasing some books recently, but now I am so glad I did. Not only did I find one with the book of Enoch, but also two volumes of the Ante Nicene Fathers. They include the writings of Justin Martyr, Irenaus, Syriac Documents and The Clementina. I am so thirsty for knowlege, I can't put these books down. It feels good to have a one-on-one relationship with my Creator without worrying about someone telling me I am doing something wrong by wanting to read a book printed by someone other that the WTBS.

What's The Worst Insult You've Ever Received?

I guess the worst was when my husband was dying in the hospital and I had put my favorite picture of us on the bed table next to him. One day I walked in and the picture was GONE. My sister in-law looked at me and said "That's such a shame, it was one of your skinny picture's wasn't it"?
That b**** makes Judge Judy look like Mary Poppins

All right -- What does God need 144,000 "rulers" for, anyway?
by logansrun inone of the great philosophical conumdrums amongst the vast number of philosophical conumdrums of the watchtower society is this: why would almighty god (or jesus christ) need once earthly, now spiritual "co-rulers" for anyway?
god is not lacking in anything (supposedly).
now, anything means anything, right?

Thanks for the update on WTBS. I love knowing I have some of the same thoughts as other members of the forum. You are right, they only take the number literally but nothing else.

Underlining the answers in the Watchtower magazines
by JH in.
i found it funny how some people would literally underline just about everything in the watchtower magazine.
the more the magazine was underlined and notes were written, the more a person looked spiritual.. did it ever happen that you didn't read your watchtower magazine, and you underlined just about anything just to look as if you read it?.

Yes, always in pink or purple. And when I wanted to look extra studious I would write extra comments in the margins!

I can't believe I am reading this. I had this exact thought about a week ago. To add to that, why would God have a chosen people? Wasn't the gospel supposedly only for the Jews in the very beginning? Aren't we all equal in sin? Why would he pick them out of the entire population? Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't these 144,000 supposed to be literal Jews? It is hard to understand why a God of love who is so BIG would categorize any certain group of imperfect people and then later on down the road offer it to the Gentiles as well.
Sorry to get off track there Bradley.
